Social Cuffs Art Showcase Set For May 27-29 In Kisumu

For a long time now since the invention of various forms of technology, human beings’ social interactions have been greatly affected. Social Cuffs Art Showcase is the first of a kind art exhibition in Kisumu that hopes to expose how humans beings have been enslaved by the trending modern lifestyle.

Jo’nam Artists and Events By Myra, the art exhibition organizers, are hoping to use this platform as a reflection of the lifestyle that has become a routine in our lives and indirectly enslaved us.

Jo’nam is a group of artists from the Lakeside region who are also alumni of Mwangaza Art School. Jo’nam comes from a Dholuo word meaning people from the lake. Events By Myra is an events organizing company conceived and based in Kisumu that is operational in both Western and Nyanza region and aims to redefine and expose the huge talent and potential in the western region of Kenya

Jo’nam Artists and Events By Myra seek, through art, to showcase how daily routines hold us hostage from expressing who we truly are. This drive does not only apply to residents of Kisumu but cuts across every individual in the humdrum cycle of life.

The art to be displayed touches on elements involving economical growth, social awareness, and neglected cultural appreciation.

The event opens 27th May at 5:30 pm and closes on 29th of the same month at Sovereign Hotel in Kisumu.
