Rotary Club repaints zebra crossings in Kisumu Town

The Rotary Club of Kisumu has re-painted the zebra crossing along Oginga Odinga Street in Kisumu as a way of reducing road accidents. President of the club Mr. Thomas Otieno says they took the initiative to ensure that the zebra crossing is clearly marked to help both pedestrians and motorists.

“Most motorists disregard the Zebra crossing and end up hitting innocent pedestrians”, explains Otieno

Speaking during the exercise, he said the Rotary Club was concerned about the number of people who were getting hit by careless drivers while crossing the road.

Winam Rotary club which is a charitable organization has lined up a number of activities to be undrtaken in Kisumu. They are soon to initiate a program to support children with disabilities and also make a visit to the Kodiaga women’s prison.
